Ever heard of EFT Tapping – Emotional Freedom Tapping? And if you have, do you know how to do it?
My purpose here is to, introduce you to Emotional Tapping and an introduction into how it’s done.
For starters, the method was created by Gary Craig, Emotional Freedom Technique founder. What you do is tap with your fingertips, on certain energy points on your head, face and your torso. You do this while thinking about an issue.
What happens, is that your emotional state about the issue often changes dramatically. Let’s look at an example of the EFT tapping technique.
Let’s say you have a disturbing memory from your childhood. You are getting caught doing something wrong. Remember the bad feelings of feeling ashamed?
During the years of your life, you’ve believed that deep down you were somehow defective, regardless of whether you are aware that you have that belief.
Now I’ll tell you how you’d use EFT therapy to resolve the feelings from that event and the belief you took on from it.
You recall the event of getting caught at the same time you tap on acupuncture points on your head, face and torso. There are eight tapping points that are commonly used by an EFT practitioner.
While you focus on the memory, and bringing up your feelings about it, you use your fingers to tap on the EFT points. Your focus can also be on the belief that was formed in that event. – that you are a bad person, or that something is wrong with you.
What occurs, is that after tapping the points and tuning into the event, your reaction to the memory alters. Your feeling about it can change from ashamed to confident and understanding. Your emotions can alter from resentful, angry, anxious, blaming – to feeling calm and compassionate. People often go from feeling scared to confident.
Now, just like any valuable skill, you’ll start at the beginning and gradually gain expertise. And, by watching this powerful Youtube EFT video, you just might take the next step to incorporate EFT into your life.
