Banner aerial ads are simply a long banner containing a message that is then flown over a gathering to convey the message randomly to thousands of people. Notice that some of the six question words above will not need to be answered on the banner. For example, they don’t need to know how you operate. Sometimes too much information is needed to include on a banner so the banner merely tells of a phone number or web address where more information is available.
Once you have written down everything the audience simply must know, then began wording it in a concise way so that the most important information is emphasized. It would be nice to include addresses, phone numbers, web page addresses for a restaurant, but the banner simply doesn’t allow space to say it all, nor will people remember that much. Perhaps just the name and the corner the restaurant is on would be best.
Once you have whittled the message down to as few words as possible, ask yourself, “If I read this on a beach or sporting event, would I remember what it said?” That is important because few people are going to write it down at the time they see it. After all, they are not there to get information about your services. You are borrowing from another event’s attention. Test your idea on others to see if they think it will be remembered. A few well chosen words can go a long way.
