Have you ever considered doing some volunteer projects abroad? Maybe volunteering in Malawi takes your fancy. If you volunteer in Africa today you are most certainly guaranteed the time of your life With over a billion people on the African continent and half of them reported to be over the poverty line it’s not surprising that they need your help.
Africa is currently not only the poorest continent but also the second largest in the world. There are 54 countries in Africa with Sudan being the largest. Unsurprisingly considering the size of the country it’s no surprise to know that parts of Africa as still unexplored. The continent is home to the worlds largest deserts, the Sahara as well as having some of the remotest jungles yet to be explored by man. There are many reasons the continent is so poor. Most of Africa relies on rainy seasons up to twice a year. If the rains do not fall in the country like we have seen previously in Ethiopia and Kenya a drought is likely to follow. These have dire consequences for the people living in the affected areas and with the government already in debt they find it very difficult to find long term solutions.
Volunteering is not going to be able to stop the issues of climate change. It can however help with the recovery of areas affected. Not only with weather but all the problems many third world countries face including poverty, HIV/AIDS, famine and ethnic violence. Volunteers have been coming to Africa to assist with many projects in the aid to improve the standard of living for all the people living there.
Volunteering is a once in a lifetime opportunity and has benefited so many people. Not only the locals benefit but the volunteers taking into account the inspiration, gratification and joy they receive from helping people who are truly in need. Be apart of something special today and volunteer your services in Africa. It is truly life changing.
