Your guitar is very important to your craft. You get what you pay for, so if you have a lousy low end guitar, than it is going to produce the same quality of sound when you play. If you play acoustics, you should go with something like an Alvarez or Takamine acoustic guitar. If you are amping it up, you should lean more towards an Ibanez or Fender for quality electric guitars.

So after your acquisition of a sound dreadnought acoustic guitar or electric axe, you should then focus on getting your name out there. You see, if no one in the industry ever learns your name, you might not make it very far. But, do not try to contact labels on your own. You should plan on sending materials to management agents and teams.

This process really starts with putting together a good press kit to send to these management groups. These kits include tracks that you have recorded, a biography of the members of your band, and some photographs and videos of the group. If you are sending videos, you should do so in DVD format’perhaps even to be played on a graphic LCD HD television.

So now you might have a little better of an idea of the process involved in getting a music career started. If you heed to these steps, you might stand a much better chance of getting the exposure required to send your act to the national stage.
